The main objectives of the organization are the following ones:

• To maintain direct contact with the government in matters related to sign language interpreting and to give all the necessary support to promote professional interpreting in all areas.
• To promote and, where appropriate, develop all kinds of initiatives and activities related to the promotion and recognition of the sign language interpreter and guide-interpreter professions, both nationally and internationally.
• To carry out activities to guarantee the training of sign language interpreters and guide-interpreters, as well as their updating taking into account the needs of the profession.
• To establish cooperative relationships to support the profession of sign language interpreters and guide-interpreters.

Our organization represents and defends sign language interpreters and guide-interpreters’ needs in Catalonia.
