Association of sign language interpreters and guide-interpreters of Catalonia
ACILS
The Association of sign language interpreters and guide-interpreters of Catalonia (ACILS) is the organization that represents and defends the sign language interpreters and guide-interpreters' needs in Catalonia.
It was established in 1991 as the first professional association in Catalonia. Since then, it has been in permanent contact with the government in order to improve the profession’s situation, especially in the work setting. ACILS has organized different training activities and participated in different national and international events.
ACILS is a founding member of

In ACILS, we are concerned about the current work situation for the sign language interpreters and guide-interpreters. Therefore, we are carrying out anonymous questionnaires in order to know the current situation and create an approximate statistic of the different profiles and performances that are currently presented in Catalonia.
If you are a sign language interpreter or guide-interpreter, we ask you to help us draw a more approximate reality of our profession in order to focus the objectives of our organization, and thus defend our rights with more knowledge of cause.
As soon as we have the results of the statistics obtained from the study, we will publish them on this website.
